The FAVA One Health Fukuoka Office has maintained close collaboration with the WOAH through continuous information sharing and exchanges of views, particularly regarding Fukuoka Prefecture’s One Health initiatives. As a result of these ongoing efforts, Fukuoka Prefecture’s One Health initiatives have recently been selected as one of the WOAH’s case studies showcasing leading One Health practices from around the world and have been introduced to the international community.
Fukuoka Prefecture’s initiatives have been recognized as an outstanding example of implementing the One Health Joint Plan of Action (OH JPA)* at the local level. They have attracted attention as a practical and replicable framework that can be adapted by other regions.
The FAVA One Health Fukuoka Office will continue to work closely with international organizations to promote both the principles and practical implementation of One Health.
*The One Health Joint Plan of Action (OH JPA) is the international action framework for One Health, jointly developed by four international organizations: the World Health Organization (WHO), the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP), and the World Organisation for Animal Health (WOAH). It aims to promote cross-sectoral collaboration to address global challenges such as infectious diseases, antimicrobial resistance, food safety, and environmental issues through the One Health approach.
